FCCPC Clarifies Legality of Yuletide Price Increases in Nigeria

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) in Nigeria has stated that price hikes during the Yuletide period are not illegal. The FCCPC's Director of Corporate Affairs, Ondaj Ijagwu, highlighted the importance of legitimate cost factors influencing transport prices and warned against exploitative practices.

Tunji Bello, the FCCPC's Executive Vice Chairman, emphasized the need for fair market behavior and transparency in fare adjustments. The commission will closely monitor transport operators to ensure compliance and prevent unfair pricing practices.
