Zambia Receives Final Ballot Papers for August Elections

On Thursday morning, Zambia received its final shipment of ballot papers ahead of the national polls scheduled for August 13. The delivery arrived at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport via a chartered aircraft from Dubai and was received by officials from the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), including chief electoral officer Brown Kasaro, alongside representatives from political parties, civil society groups, faith-based organizations, and the media.

This shipment follows the arrival of the first batch of ballot papers on Wednesday. The ECZ has stated that the checks on the ballot papers are part of Zambia's standard transparency measures in preparation for the elections, which will determine the president, members of parliament, and local government leaders.

The commission is committed to ensuring that all electoral materials are delivered, verified, and distributed on schedule amid increased political activity and public discourse regarding economic reforms, governance, and service delivery.
