Zambia Court Jails Two for Witchcraft Targeting President Hichilema

In Zambia, a court sentenced two men for using witchcraft to target President Hichilema. The men were arrested in December with charms, including a live chameleon, intended for a deadly ritual.

Despite claiming to be traditional healers, they were convicted under the Witchcraft Act. The magistrate described them as a danger to society.

The court rejected their plea for a lighter sentence, and they received a concurrent jail term for possession of the charm. President Hichilema has publicly stated his disbelief in witchcraft.
