Nollywood Legend Taiwo Hassan, Ogogo, Dies at 66

Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, died on Sunday at the age of 66 after a battle with stage-four cancer. His career spanned over four decades, during which he appeared in more than 100 films.

Ogogo's breakthrough role came in "Owo Blow," directed by Tade Ogidan, where he played Wole Owolabi, a character that highlighted corruption and societal issues. This performance earned him the Best Actor of the Year award at the 1997 THEMA Awards, making him a household name.

Other notable films include "Agbelebu," "Danfo Driver," and "Okan Soso," showcasing his versatility as a leading actor. He also wrote and produced "Ekun-Ayo," indicating his multifaceted career.

As he transitioned to more authoritative roles, he starred in "Omin" and "Elewon." His role in "Omo Ghetto" introduced him to a contemporary audience, further solidifying his legacy in Yoruba cinema.
