Deadly Attacks and Abductions in Kogi and Benue States Leave 10 Dead

In Kogi and Benue states, separate attacks led to at least 10 deaths and multiple abductions. In Benue, armed assailants invaded the Entekpa community in Adoka district, killing five residents and forcing many to flee.

Additionally, gunmen abducted at least 16 travelers along the Utonkon-Okpoga road. In Kogi, suspected kidnappers abducted passengers from three vehicles along the Ejul Alloma highway.

The violence escalated with clashes between herdsmen and farmers in Ejul Ojeb community, resulting in deaths and displacements. The incidents prompted security agencies to conduct search operations for the abducted individuals.

Local authorities, including Maxwell Ogiri and Jackson Ominyi, confirmed the attacks. The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola Egwaba, acknowledged the violent clashes in the region.
