Disu Appointed Acting IGP After Egbetokun's Resignation

Disu has been appointed as the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) after the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun. He began his career in the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, and has over three decades of experience in operational and administrative roles.

Born on April 13, 1966, in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Disu holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Ondo State. He has attended several professional courses both locally and internationally, including training in small arms smuggling in Botswana and internet fraud at Cambridge University, UK.

Disu was appointed head of police intelligence responsible for the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) on August 2, 2021. He has previously served in various capacities, including as the second-in-command of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in River State.

Disu is also a veteran judoka who won a silver medal at the 33rd US Open held in Massachusetts.
