100 Vulnerable Children in Calabar Receive Free Healthcare

On Wednesday, the De New Calabar Lion Club, in partnership with the Cross River State Children’s Parliament, conducted a humanitarian outreach in Calabar, Cross River State, providing free healthcare services to 100 vulnerable street children and orphans. The event, themed "Kind Action Project," was organized to commemorate the 2026 World Children’s Day.

Bright Nwokeocha, the president of the De New Calabar Lion Club, emphasized the importance of bringing healthcare closer to vulnerable children who lack parental care. The outreach included medical services, food items, cash gifts, and free haircuts, aiming to restore dignity and inspire confidence among the children.

Chihurumnanya Miracl coordinated the outreach, which was motivated by a recent assessment revealing that approximately 500 street children live in the area. The initiative aligns with the club's values of service and dignity for vulnerable groups.
