Ogar Distributes 5,000 Books, 7,000 Pads in Yala Outreach

Hon. Chris Ogar, a businessman and philanthropist, spearheaded a significant outreach program in Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State, over three days to commemorate World Children's Day and World Menstrual Hygiene Day. The initiative, in partnership with the Nlowo Childcare Foundation, targeted schoolchildren and aimed to distribute educational materials and promote menstrual health awareness.

A total of 5,000 exercise books, 2,000 school bags, and 7,000 sanitary pads were distributed across six selected schools. Ogar commended Ladi Comfort Akobi, the founder of the Nlowo Childcare Foundation, for her commitment to improving the lives of children and adolescents through education and health awareness programs.

The outreach included practical lessons on menstrual hygiene management and aimed to equip students with knowledge and life skills necessary for navigating adolescence successfully. The program also sought to challenge harmful stereotypes associated with menstruation and empower young people.

Additionally, Ogar donated a wheelchair to a physically challenged boy in the Okpoma community, further demonstrating his commitment to community development.
