10th National Assembly Passes Over 100 Bills in Three Years

Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, announced that the 10th National Assembly has passed over 100 bills within its first three years, a feat he described as unprecedented in Nigeria's democratic journey. This disclosure was made during the opening of the 2026 National Assembly week in Abuja.

Akpabio highlighted that the legislative performance aims to impact the lives of Nigerians positively. He stated that the assembly's laws are focused on addressing insecurity, improving education, and strengthening the economy.

Akpabio also mentioned the enactment of measures to ensure the safety of citizens, return children to classrooms, modernize tax laws, and establish a new national minimum wage. He reaffirmed the assembly's commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and its role in enhancing Nigeria's democratic institutions, reflecting a renewed confidence in the country's governance.
