Thirteen Captives Die, Twelve Children Held in Kwara Attack

In a recent revelation, survivors of the February 3 terrorist attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, reported that at least 13 captives died during their nearly six months in captivity, while 12 children remain with the terrorists, identified as Boko Haram. The victims, who were formally received by the Kwara State Government in Ilorin, described their harrowing experience of being abducted along with 176 women and children.

They endured extreme hunger, receiving only one meal a day, and were forced to sleep in the open forest. Nafisat Abdulfatai, a survivor, stated that the children were coerced into staying behind due to threats from the abductors.

The captives faced unimaginable suffering, with limited food and harsh living conditions. They were eventually released, but the plight of the remaining children continues to raise concerns.
