176 Kidnapped Kwara Residents Rescued After Months

On Wednesday, 176 residents of Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, were rescued after being held captive for several months by armed bandits. The victims were kidnapped in February during an attack on the community.

The successful rescue operation involved collaboration among various security agencies and was celebrated as a significant breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and banditry in the state. Hon. Saidu Baba Ahmed, representing Gwanabe/Gweria/Bani/Adena Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, confirmed the release and expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and security personnel for their efforts.

Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi, Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Area, had previously assured residents that efforts to secure the victims' release were ongoing. He emphasized the collaboration between the local government, the state government, and security agencies, which he believed would yield positive results in combating criminal activities in the area.
