Kwara Governor Reports 46 Kidnapping Victims in Hospital

On February 3, a kidnapping incident in Woro, Kwara State, resulted in the abduction of 176 individuals, with 163 victims subsequently rescued. Governor AbdulRazaq disclosed that 46 of these rescued victims, primarily women and children, are currently hospitalized.

The governor made this announcement while receiving the rescued individuals in Ilorin from Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade. He described the attack as regrettable and noted that 13 individuals remain unaccounted for, raising concerns about their fate.

AbdulRazaq stated that the government is committed to providing medical attention to all rescued victims and is assessing the situation further. He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt response, which included the establishment of five Army battalions in strategic locations across Kwara State and the approval of 1,000 Forest Guards.

The governor emphasized the seriousness of the federal government's commitment to enhancing security in the state.
