Edo State Registers 131,165 New Voters in 2026

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registered 131,165 new voters in Edo State following the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted between August 2025 and July 2026. INEC's spokesperson in the state, Toyon Buoro, reported that 52,907 voters transferred their voting areas, and there were 19,565 requests for changes to personal information such as names, dates of birth, and addresses.

Owan West Local Government had the lowest registration with 3,393 new voters, while Ovia North East recorded 11,613 new voters, and Oredo had 9,544 new voters. The INEC State Office recorded the highest number of registrations at 11,747.

The CVR exercise aimed to enhance voter participation ahead of upcoming elections.
