18-Year-Old Abdullahi Aminu Drowns in Kano Pond

Abdullahi Aminu, an 18-year-old, drowned after falling into a pond located at Kofar Gabas in the Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, as reported by the Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Sani Anas, in a statement signed by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Saminu Abdullahi.

The distress call was received at approximately 3:28 p.m. from Aminu Lawan, the victim's father, who reported his son's drowning. Following the report, the fire service promptly dispatched a rescue team to the scene.

Unfortunately, Abdullahi was retrieved from the pond deceased. The cause of the drowning is still under investigation.

The victim's body was subsequently handed over to Alhaji Baba Ado Sarkin Bai, the Secretary to the District Head of Danbatta. Sani Anas expressed condolences to the family and urged local residents to exercise caution around ponds and waterways, especially during the rainy season.
