Teenager Drowns in Kano Pond, Fire Service Responds

Abdullahi Aminu, an 18-year-old, drowned after falling into a pond located at Kofar Gabas in the Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, and the Kano State Fire Service was alerted at approximately 3:28 p.m. by Aminu Lawan, the victim's father.
Following the distress call, the fire service dispatched a rescue team to the scene. Unfortunately, Abdullahi was retrieved from the pond deceased.
The cause of the drowning is currently under investigation. After recovery, the body was handed over to Alhaji Baba Ado Sarkin Bai, the Secretary to the District Head of Danbatta.
Sani Anas, the Director of the Kano State Fire Service, expressed condolences to the family and urged community members to exercise caution around ponds and waterways, especially during the rainy season.
