Australian Teen Gout Breaks Usain Bolt's 200m Record

An 18-year-old Australian sprinter named Gout has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking Usain Bolt's 200m record, clocking in at 19.67 seconds. This performance not only sets a new world record for his age group but also marks the first legal run under the 20-second barrier for an athlete of his age.

Gout's time surpasses Bolt's previous record of 19.93 seconds, which was set in 2004. In his recent race, Gout's impressive performance attracted attention as he had previously run a time of 20.06 seconds, which was the 16th fastest ever recorded.

The race saw Australian athlete Aidan Murphy finishing second with a time of 19.88 seconds. Gout's achievement is significant as it reflects a growing trend of Australian sprinters breaking the 20-second mark.

Despite this breakthrough, Gout has chosen to skip the upcoming Commonwealth Games to focus on preparing for the World Championships in Oregon later this year.
