Zamfara Political Parties Commit to Peaceful Campaigns

On September 25, 2026, Hon. Nura Abdullahi Tsafe, the State Special Adviser on Political Matters, announced that 20 political parties signed an agreement with the Zamfara State Directorate of Political Matters to promote peaceful and mature campaign activities for the upcoming 2027 elections. This agreement was reached following a meeting with 100 screened political groups in the state.

Tsafe highlighted that a recent mobilization workshop aimed to sensitize these groups about the achievements of Governor Dauda Lawal's administration and to advocate for campaigns devoid of thuggery. He stated, “I held a meeting with 20 registered political parties where we all signed and agreed on peaceful campaigns, mature and free from political thuggery.” Tsafe also noted that some political parties expressed interest in aligning with the APC due to the developmental projects executed by Governor Lawal's administration, which he claimed has led to significant transformation in the state.
