Anosike Promises Judicial Welfare Reforms for Abia State

Dr. Kelechi Anosike, the governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, addressed over 495 lawyers during a dinner at the Atlantic Presidential Hall in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He condemned the four strikes by judicial workers in Abia State over the past three years, labeling them as “condemnable and appalling.” Anosike emphasized that repeated industrial actions disrupt the administration of justice and affect the economy and citizens' rights.

He pledged to prioritize the welfare of judicial workers and enforce full financial autonomy for the judiciary if elected in the 2027 general election. Anosike criticized the “executive cherry-picking” of judiciary funds, asserting that once the judiciary's budget is approved, it should be released predictably without executive interference.

He articulated a vision for a welfarist government in Abia State, focusing on improving citizens' lives and ensuring timely payment of salaries and pensions.
