Akpabio Advocates for Tinubu's 2027 Re-election in North

On Saturday, Senate President Godswill Akpabio initiated a campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, addressing Northern youths in Abuja. He urged them to support the administration's economic reforms, which include the removal of fuel subsidies and foreign exchange reforms, describing these measures as painful yet essential for economic repositioning.

Akpabio stated that these reforms are beginning to yield tangible benefits for Nigerians, asserting that they are necessary for fiscal sustainability. He acknowledged the initial challenges posed by these measures but emphasized their role in redirecting resources towards critical sectors like healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Akpabio encouraged Northern youths to actively participate in governance, stating they are "architects of today." He also highlighted the 10th National Assembly's focus on reforms aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability. Alhaji Ibrahim Dan-Musa, spokesperson for the Northern Ethnic Groups Assembly, praised Akpabio for fostering political understanding between the North and South.
