Pete Edochie Praises Awolowo as His Favorite Politician

In an interview with Isbae U on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast, veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie articulated his admiration for the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, whom he regards as his favorite Nigerian politician. Edochie emphasized Awolowo's clear vision and strong record of development, stating that Awolowo had a unique ability to articulate his plans and funding strategies.

He noted that Awolowo introduced several groundbreaking initiatives in Nigeria, such as television broadcasting in 1959 and free primary education. Edochie expressed regret that Awolowo never ascended to the presidency, stating, “Regrettably, he never became president.” Additionally, Edochie shared his fondness for the Yoruba people, mentioning a personal connection through his family, as one of his sons is married to a Yoruba woman.
