Otuaro Urges IYC to Support Tinubu's 2027 Re-election

Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), called on the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections. This appeal was made in a statement issued on Monday, following a courtesy visit from the newly inaugurated 10th leadership of the IYC, led by President Doubra Okotete, at Otuaro's office in Abuja.

Otuaro stressed that supporting Tinubu's second-term bid aligns with the strategic interests of the Ijaw and Niger Delta people. He urged the IYC to maintain unity and avoid division, asserting that the region's future is tied to Tinubu's success.

Otuaro praised the IYC and other stakeholders for their support of PAP's peacebuilding initiatives and educational reforms, which include a scholarship scheme benefiting 8,700 students in-country and over 270 abroad. He noted that both Tinubu and National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu were pleased with PAP's efforts to foster peace and expand educational opportunities in the Niger Delta.
