APC Governors to Meet Yilwatda Over Primary Crisis

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors are scheduled to meet with Prof. Yilwatda to discuss the crisis stemming from the party's primary elections held earlier this year.

The primaries faced allegations of candidate imposition, irregular voting processes, and escalating rancor, leading to parallel primaries in several states. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who chairs the Progressive Governors' Forum (PGF), acknowledged that the forum thoroughly reviewed the primaries alongside the recent Ekiti State governorship election outcomes.

Despite optimism for the 2027 presidential elections, sources indicate deep concerns among governors regarding unresolved grievances that could derail the party's fortunes. Uzodimma stated that the forum would directly engage the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to enforce reconciliation strategies and strengthen the party's internal cohesion.

The meeting will also address broader governance issues and public frustrations amid the current socio-economic climate in Nigeria.
