Atiku Abubakar Unveils 12-Point Plan for 2027 Election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has unveiled a 12-point policy agenda as part of his campaign for the 2027 presidential election, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The agenda, shared by his Special Assistant on Broadcast Media, AbdulRasheed Shehu, covers critical areas including the economy, education, local government autonomy, transportation, electricity, job creation, security, agriculture, healthcare, and federal restructuring.

Atiku proposes restoring a targeted petroleum subsidy to alleviate transportation costs and reviewing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to ease student debt burdens. He commits to implementing the Supreme Court judgment on local government autonomy, ensuring direct funding to local councils.

His economic plan includes reviving the Eastern maritime port corridor and reopening land borders for legitimate trade. Additionally, Atiku aims to reform the electricity sector for affordability, establish a $10 billion startup financing program, and enhance security personnel recruitment and welfare.
