Atiku Abubakar Promises Oronsaye Report Implementation

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), announced his commitment to implementing the Oronsaye Committee Report if elected in the upcoming 2027 general elections. In a statement released on Friday by his spokesman, Kenneth Okonkwo, Atiku emphasized that the report provides a clear strategy for Nigeria to minimize waste, duplication, and governance costs.

He criticized President Bola Tinubu for not fulfilling his promise to implement the report, alleging that Tinubu's administration has instead increased the number of government agencies, including fictitious ones. Atiku vowed to initiate the implementation of the Oronsaye Report immediately after his inauguration, starting with a transparent audit of existing government agencies.

He plans to eliminate unnecessary agencies, merge overlapping institutions, and redirect savings towards healthcare, education, infrastructure, jobs, and social protection. Atiku asserted that he would lead by example in reducing government costs and making the administration more efficient and accountable.
