Bolarinwa Vows to Tackle Banditry in Kwara Governorship Bid

On Saturday, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa submitted his nomination form to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, signaling the start of his campaign for the governorship of Kwara State in the 2027 general elections.

He reaffirmed his commitment to confront security challenges, particularly banditry, which has led to humanitarian crises in both Kwara North and Kwara South. Bolarinwa's vision includes restoring peace, enhancing public safety, and improving the quality of life for residents through better health and education services.

He emphasized that addressing insecurity will be a top priority in his agenda. Bolarinwa, who has a political background as a former councillor and local government chairman, expressed confidence in his chances of becoming the next governor, while also acknowledging the efforts of the incumbent governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

His formal declaration of intent to run is set for April 28, 2026.
