Kaduna State 2027 Budget Focuses on Human Capital Development

The Kaduna State Government has commenced presentations for the 2027 budget, emphasizing Human Capital Development with a focus on agriculture, health, and education. Hon Muktar Ahmed Monrovia, the Commissioner of Planning and Budget, stated that the upcoming budget will consolidate efforts from the past three and a half years.

A new budget line for Early Child Development will support children aged 0 to 5 years, enhancing Human Capital Development. The budget will also prioritize social protection, security, and infrastructural development, aligning with Governor Uba Sani's commitment to securing the state and supporting underserved communities.

Monrovia highlighted that this budget will be the fourth under Governor Uba Sani's administration and the last of his first term. He justified the focus on agriculture by noting that Kaduna State has over one million farming households, emphasizing initiatives like distributing free fertilizers and improved seeds to smallholder farmers to boost the local economy and reduce rural-urban migration.
