Ebonyi Government Urges Citizens to Ignore Protests

The Ebonyi State Government, led by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has called on residents to disregard what it termed “sponsored narratives, media attacks, and poorly coordinated protests” aimed at undermining the administration. Barr Chief Ikeuwa Omebeh, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, issued this statement in Abakaliki on Wednesday.

He acknowledged the right to peaceful protest but cautioned against its abuse for creating unnecessary tension. Omebeh highlighted the administration's commitment to welfare through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rural development.

He noted that the “People’s Charter of Needs” philosophy prioritizes the interests of the people. The Commissioner urged citizens to evaluate the administration based on its achievements rather than political propaganda, encouraging them to visit communities and inspect projects.

He reassured that Governor Nwifuru remains focused on governance and development, calling for unity and constructive engagement among the populace.
