NDC Wins Court Ruling on Logo for 2027 Elections

On March 25, 2026, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) approved a modified version of its logo, which was subsequently submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Initially, INEC uploaded the new design but later removed it, reverting to the original logo without explanation.

Following INEC's refusal to rectify the situation, the NDC sought legal resolution. On Thursday, Justice J.O.

Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja ruled that INEC must recognize and use the NDC's updated digital logo across all elections. The court also issued a perpetual injunction preventing INEC from interfering with the party's use of its "two-finger" victory sign.

Osa Director, the NDC National Publicity Secretary, announced the ruling, urging party members to use the approved symbol on campaign materials and acknowledging that some had already printed materials with the old logo. The NDC plans to enhance public awareness of the new symbol ahead of the 2027 general elections.
