INEC REC Ibeziako Meets Stakeholders for 2027 Elections

Chukwuemeka C. Ibeziako, Esq., the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Imo State, expressed satisfaction with the turnout at the inaugural stakeholders' meeting organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday.

He noted the participation of representatives from political parties, civil liberty organizations, government agencies, and the media, which contributed to a memorable event. Ibeziako reported that significant progress has been made in implementing the revised timetable and schedule of activities for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He emphasized the importance of engaging with political parties, conducting voter education initiatives, and training election personnel to ensure operational efficiency and transparency throughout the electoral process. Additionally, he advised political parties to address leadership inconsistencies and urged the media to assist in public enlightenment campaigns to encourage voters to collect their Permanent Voter's Cards (PVC) and reduce the accumulation of uncollected cards at local government offices.
