Sam Adeyemi Calls for Vision Beyond 2027 Elections

Sam Adeyemi, the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, called on Nigerians to look beyond the 2027 general elections and focus on building a new nation founded on effective leadership and functional systems. In a video message titled “Seeing a New Nation,” posted after the Independence Service on September 27, Adeyemi stressed that merely changing political office holders would not lead to national transformation.

He argued that elections are essential for democracy but will not guarantee development without a clear national vision. Adeyemi highlighted the importance of collective agreement on Nigeria's direction and the necessary systems to achieve it.

He proposed a national discussion involving citizens, political leaders, and the diaspora to establish a common vision. He linked Nigeria's challenges to weaknesses in social and institutional systems, advocating for reforms and accountability from political leaders.

His message comes as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 elections, which are generating increased political activity.
