North Central APC Backs Mohammed Adamu for Nasarawa Governorship

The North Central APC Forum has officially endorsed Mohammed Adamu, the former Inspector General of Police, for the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State. This endorsement follows extensive consultations among APC leaders and stakeholders in the North Central region.

Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the chairman of the forum, emphasized that Adamu is the right candidate to succeed the current governor, Abdullahi Sule, and to ensure the continued development and security of Nasarawa State. Adamu served as Nigeria's 20th Inspector General of Police from January 2019 to April 2021, during which he significantly reduced banditry along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

The forum believes that Adamu's election will enhance security in the region, drawing on his decade-long experience with Interpol and national security. Additionally, the forum urged newly elected APC executives in Nasarawa to support Adamu's gubernatorial bid, while also condemning the harassment of citizens by government officials for political reasons.
