Issa-Onilu and Bolarinwa Join Kwara Guber Race for 2027

Issa-Onilu, the former group political editor of THISDAY newspaper, has officially entered the race for the governorship of Kwara State in the upcoming 2027 general elections. His announcement comes shortly after Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, the immediate past chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, also declared his interest in the governorship position.

Both candidates are preparing to consult with APC members and leaders across the three senatorial districts of the state as they gear up for the party primaries. Issa-Onilu aims to seek the mandate of the people of Kwara State, emphasizing his commitment to the APC platform.

Bolarinwa, who is recognized for his grassroots connections, has expressed a desire to ensure a seamless continuation of governance under the current administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who is completing his second term. The political landscape in Kwara is set to become competitive as these candidates prepare for the primaries.
