Atiku Accuses Obasanjo of Exploiting Na’Abba's Memory

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar responded to allegations made by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who claimed that Atiku bribed the late Ghali Na’Abba to facilitate impeachment efforts against him. In a statement released on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku condemned Obasanjo's remarks as a "desperate attempt to rewrite history" and exploit Na’Abba's memory for political purposes.

He argued that it was unfair to make such allegations after Na’Abba's death, as he could no longer defend his integrity. Atiku questioned why Obasanjo did not raise these allegations while Na’Abba was alive and why no legal action was taken if there was evidence of wrongdoing.

He suggested that the timing of Obasanjo's comments was politically motivated, coinciding with the lead-up to the 2027 presidential election. Atiku also referenced their historical political rift, linking it to his opposition to Obasanjo's third-term agenda.
