Sokoto Pilgrims Urged to Pay Hajj Deposit by Deadline

As the September 26, 2026 deadline approaches for the payment of the 2027 Hajj fare, intending pilgrims in Sokoto State are urged to deposit N7.7 million pending the official fare announcement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). Alhajj Aliyu Musa, chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, revealed that the state has been allocated 2,773 seats and that registration has commenced.
He praised the support of Sokoto State Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu for the agency's operations. Musa warned against proxy registrations and unauthorized payment channels, highlighting the issue of pilgrims from Niger Republic using proxies.
To address this, a "Guarantor's Form" must be completed by recognized authorities. Payments should only be made into dedicated accounts to avoid fraud.
Musa also mentioned that NAHCON recognized Sokoto State for its excellent conduct during the 2026 Hajj operations.
