Fubara Backs Wike's Rainbow Coalition and Tinubu's Bid

On Wednesday, during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Rivien Medical Industry project in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara publicly declared his support for the Rainbow Coalition, which is led by Minister Nyesom Wike. He endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term and expressed his backing for Kingsley Chinda as the governorship candidate for Rivers State.

Fubara urged his supporters to align with the Rainbow Coalition, stating, “We have made peace in the state.” He emphasized the importance of unity and moving forward, cautioning against using his name to promote political activities outside the coalition. Fubara's support comes after he withdrew from the All Progressives Congress’s primaries in May 2026, following a reconciliation with Wike’s political camp after a prolonged political crisis in Rivers State.

The Rainbow Coalition includes members from various political groups, including APC loyalists and factions of the Peoples Democratic Party.
