INEC to Distribute 77,015 New PVCs in Oyo State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has announced the distribution and collection of 77,015 newly printed Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) starting from October 9 to October 15, 2026. This seven-day exercise will take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. across all 351 Registration Areas/Wards in the state, as part of the preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Professor Adeniran Rahmon Tella, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, stated that the exercise will also facilitate the collection of unclaimed old PVCs from the 2023 general election. He urged the public to ignore online claims that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) is still ongoing, clarifying that it closed on July 26, 2026.

Tella encouraged the electorate and stakeholders to participate in the ward-level exercise, noting that after the seven days, collection would continue at the 33 INEC Local Government Area offices in the state during the same hours. The PVCs are intended for newly registered voters, those who lost their cards, those who applied for polling unit transfers, and those whose PVCs were damaged or defaced.
