NDC Claims INEC Denied Access for Candidate Nominations

The National Democratic Coalition (NDC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of denying them access to the necessary code for uploading their candidates' names to the commission's nomination portal. This situation arises following a recent Federal High Court judgment that directed INEC to deregister the NDC, creating uncertainty regarding the party's legal status and its ability to participate in forthcoming elections.

Osa, the NDC spokesperson, stated that the party approached INEC to obtain the access code but was informed that they would not be assisted. The NDC plans to take legal steps to suspend the enforcement of the court's judgment and intends to file a stay of execution to prevent the immediate implementation of the deregistration order while their appeal is determined.

The NDC remains committed to exhausting all legal avenues to overturn the judgment and protect the rights of its members, as the outcome will determine the party's future in Nigeria's electoral process.
