NNPP Missing as Other Parties Collect INEC Access Codes

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was reported missing as other political parties, notably the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), collected access codes from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upload their candidates' nominations. This development occurred despite a subsisting court judgment involving the NDC.

An INEC official confirmed that the NDC was granted access to the candidate nomination portal, stating that the commission took judicial notice of the party's appeal against the court judgment. The official explained that the application for a stay of execution was considered sufficient grounds for granting access without prejudice to the final determination of the case.

The NDC's leader, Seriak Nation, claimed to have appealed the ruling regarding the application for a stay of execution. INEC clarified that granting access codes does not affect the final outcome of the ongoing litigation.
