INEC Restores NDC Nomination Portal Access for 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has restored access to the nomination portal for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), enabling the party to upload candidate names for the 2027 general elections. This restoration follows an appeal by the NDC against a Federal High Court judgment questioning the party's legal status and leadership.

NDC's national leader, Seriake Dickson, stated that the party remains duly registered and enjoys legal rights pending the outcome of its appeal. He expressed confidence in the judiciary's ability to fairly determine the matter.

Dickson disclosed that the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has successfully uploaded his details, and the vice-presidential candidate will follow shortly. The deadline for submitting candidates is set for July 11 for the National Assembly and July 17 for governorship candidates.

Dickson urged party members to remain calm and assured them that the nomination process is progressing as scheduled.
