Wike: PDP Faces Challenges Ahead of 2027 Election

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, expressed concerns regarding the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and its prospects for the 2027 presidential election. During a monthly media chat in Abuja, Wike explained that the party is facing significant internal problems, making it challenging to secure a victory in the upcoming election.

He noted that the PDP's struggles are compounded by the lack of participation from key figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, which he believes undermines the party's democratic representation. Wike emphasized that winning the presidential election is not an easy task, and the party must focus on rebuilding itself at the state level to prepare for future electoral challenges.

He pointed out that the current situation is not conducive for the PDP to reclaim power, indicating a need for strategic planning and unity within the party.
