NDC Candidate Accuses LASAA of Targeting Campaign Banners

Adefolaseye Adebayo, a medical surgeon and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Surulere Federal Constituency I, accused the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) of engaging in a selective removal of her campaign materials. This allegation arose shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) opened the campaign period for the 2027 elections.

Adebayo claimed that LASAA officials removed her campaign banners while leaving those of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in place. She reported that supporters informed her of the removals, prompting her to confront LASAA officials, who stated they were acting on behalf of the agency.

Adebayo noted that while her banners were taken down, APC banners remained at some locations. She expressed her belief that this was a form of political witch-hunt against her.

Despite the situation, Adebayo decided not to pursue legal action against LASAA and instead planned to replace the removed banners, viewing the incident as an opportunity for publicity.
