NDC Targets One Million South-East Voters for 2027

The South-East caucus of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has set a goal to mobilize at least one million voters of South-East extraction in Abuja for the party’s presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso in the 2027 general elections. This announcement was made during a solidarity visit by NDC supporters from the six area councils of the FCT to the party’s Deputy National Chairman, South-East, Chief Teddy Obey, at the party’s national secretariat.

Dr Chidi Nwosu, Chairman of the FCT South-East NDC, emphasized the importance of political mobilization within the South-East community, especially with a candidate from the region. The caucus plans to gather signatures and unite South-East residents in the FCT under the NDC platform.

Nwosu stated that the emergence of Obi as the presidential candidate presents an opportunity for the South-East to engage more directly in national politics. Chief Teddy Obey encouraged grassroots mobilization strategies, advocating for direct engagement with voters.
