NDC Allows Nigerians to Fund 2027 Campaign from N1,000

The National Democratic Coalition (NDC), under the leadership of Seriake Dickson, who is the national leader and senator representing Bayelsa West, has introduced a fundraising model for its 2027 campaign that allows Nigerians to contribute amounts as low as N1,000 and N2,000. Dickson stated that this initiative aims to reduce the dominance of wealthy individuals in political financing, which he believes undermines democracy and disadvantages ordinary citizens.

He emphasized the need for a political financing system that includes contributions from all Nigerians, regardless of their financial status. Dickson also mentioned that the NDC is the only political party not funded by government resources and is committed to an alternative approach to campaign financing.

Additionally, he revealed that the party is consulting on the composition of its presidential campaign council, which will be announced after consultations. Dickson urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure free and fair elections in 2027.
