Fayose Claims Judiciary Will Rule Nigeria by 2027

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, expressed concerns regarding the future of democracy in Nigeria during an interview on Arise Television. He claimed that by 2027, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would no longer play a role in determining leadership, as the judiciary would take over this function.

Fayose criticized the current state of democracy, stating that the judiciary has been increasingly involved in political matters over the past twelve years, effectively undermining democratic practices. He warned that this trend could lead to a scenario where the judiciary acts as a coronation authority for dictatorial rule, rather than a military dictatorship.

Fayose's remarks reflect a broader concern about the erosion of democratic institutions in Nigeria, particularly regarding the roles of political parties such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
