Obi and Kwankwaso Urge NDC Aspirants to Avoid Greed

On a Saturday summit in Abuja, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and Kano State counterpart Rabiu Kwankwaso cautioned aspirants of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against greed and vote-buying as the 2027 general elections approach. They represented the former Inter-Party Advisory Council Chairman Peter Ameh and Kwankwaso's 2023 campaign coordinator Moshood Shittu.

Obi urged candidates to embrace integrity and prioritize people-oriented leadership, stating that Nigeria requires leaders committed to public service rather than personal enrichment. He criticized politicians who betray voters and defect to rival parties, describing such actions as breaches of public trust.

Kwankwaso echoed these sentiments, highlighting the worsening challenges in Nigeria and the need for leaders willing to sacrifice for the country. Ikenna Enekweizu, the NDC Secretary, assured aspirants of a transparent primary process, dismissing rumors of a secret list of preferred candidates.

The summit also discussed expanding measures for women and youth participation in politics.
