Obi and Kwankwaso Confirmed for 2027 Election Ballot

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, confirmed that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso will be on the ballot for the 2027 general elections. This assurance was made during a press conference in Abuja, where he addressed fears stemming from recent political and legal developments that could potentially derail their coalition.

Tanko responded to a ruling by Justice Isah Dashen of the Federal High Court in Lokoja, which set aside a previous judgment affecting the registration of the NDC and the Peace Movement Party. He emphasized that the alliance between Obi and Kwankwaso remains strong despite attempts to intimidate them.

Tanko called for unity among supporters and urged the federal government and political actors to respect the independence of the judiciary to ensure a free and fair electoral process. He also indicated that the Obidient Movement would continue to consult and evolve its coalition structure ahead of the elections.
