Obidient Movement Confirms Obi and Kwankwaso for 2027

The Obidient Movement, represented by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, announced that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso will contest in the 2027 presidential election, despite a court ruling that aimed to prevent Obi's candidacy.

Tanko accused the judiciary of acting in a politically motivated manner to deregister the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming the court's decision was a "kangaroo judgement" intended to frustrate Obi's presidential ambitions. He described the judiciary as having abandoned its impartial role and aligning with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tanko warned that the judiciary's actions could lead to a loss of public confidence and encouraged citizens to disregard such rulings. He emphasized that the Obidient Movement would continue to mobilize support across the country, asserting that Obi and Kwankwaso would defeat the APC in the upcoming election, regardless of judicial interference.
