Duke Calls for Opposition Unity Against Tinubu for 2027

Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and former governor of Cross River State from 1999 to 2007, has called for unity among opposition parties to effectively challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the upcoming 2027 general election. Speaking on Politics Today, Duke emphasized that a divided opposition would allow Tinubu to secure a second term effortlessly.

He expressed his willingness to step down his presidential ambition to support a strong candidate from the opposition. Duke criticized Tinubu's governance, stating it has led to increased poverty and disillusionment among Nigerians, contrasting it with the "renewed hope" promised in 2023.

He asserted that Tinubu no longer enjoys the same level of support he had during the last election, highlighting the need for the opposition to anticipate challenges on election day and unite for a common cause.
