Tinubu Leads 2027 Election Projections Over Atiku, Obi

As Nigeria approaches the 2027 presidential election, a new political forecast from the Political Intelligence Group (PIG) of Politico.ng places President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi. The projection suggests that Tinubu would win 20 states if the election were held under current conditions, while Atiku is expected to secure nine states, and Obi is projected to win eight states along with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

PIG cautioned that this projection is merely a snapshot of the current political landscape and not a definitive prediction of the election outcome. The group noted that the political environment is fluid, with potential changes in alliances, defections, and economic conditions that could affect these calculations.

Tinubu is expected to dominate all six South-West states, including Lagos, and Kano, indicating strong support in both the South and North. The economy is highlighted as a critical factor, with improvements potentially benefiting the incumbent.
