Opposition Must Show Capacity for 2027 Elections - Sambo

Sumner Sambo, a political figure, asserted that opposition parties need to exhibit their capacity in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He made this statement during an interview on Arise Television's morning show on Monday, following the conclusion of the Ekiti State governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared incumbent governor Abiodun Oyebanji the winner of the election. Sambo emphasized that the performance of the opposition parties was inadequate, questioning their ability to reflect on the electoral outcomes compared to previous elections in 2018 and 2022.

He stressed the necessity for the opposition to put in significant effort to improve their political standing and performance in future elections.
